The Wallflower

This year has only few more days to go..

It's been a year filled with happiness and equal amount of tears but I guess that's what life is all about. While I felt really low in the past couple of months, I made sure to not sulk in and create happiness around me. Here's little note to you and I, just to remind our self-worth.

These three quotes have been special to me this year and have stuck through me this year.

"Do not be afraid of growing slowly; be afraid of standing still" - Chinese Proverb

I've always tried my best to never get paralyzed by the challenges that life brings in. It's difficult to understand why it happens to us but its around this time you find the right people who stand by you and stick through no matter what. It also made me realise that these hurdles make you stronger.

I got into the habit of journaling since my college days. Joting down to-do lists to penning down my feelings; it’s a habit that really has helped me bring clarity to my goals and balanced my moods. I don’t care if my dreams/goals seem far fetched, its just my way of putting it out to the universe of what I want and most importantly, reminding myself everyday what I'm working towards. It's the small progess that leads you to the New You at the end of the tunnel.

"We must become what we teach" - Nathaniel Branden

I've always wanted to be a person who can be what she wants - today, tomorrow or day after.

Whether it was starting to teach young or becoming a content creator; I didn't want to restrict myself to one thing. I like exploring and that's what I've always wanted my students to do - EXPLORE!

Only then can you truly discover your worth.

Another thing I've been teaching myself lately is TRAINING MY MIND.

I’m learning to silence my mind and feel the calmness. I find myself always stuck with overly thinking out situations that might never happen and all the things I’m meaning to do. All of these emotions and thoughts create a chaotic mind, leaving me feel grim and confused.

Detaching my mind from these thoughts and helping myself focus on one thing at a time has helped me work more productively through the day.

"Stay afraid but do it anyway. What's important is the action. You don't have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow." - Carrie Fisher

Well, this one has really stuck by me and trust me, it works. I was a girl with very low self-confidence, still am sometimes. But I've realised, nervousness makes my thoughts cloudy. I choose to feed myself with positive thoughts about myself. It's more about creating yourself in the process of loving yourself is where the confidence finds you.

You must have heard this more often - “Fake it till you make it”. A small tip - it’s more about displaying yourself with that upright posture, power dressing and eye contact with a smile. Trust me, it’ll fill you up with poise and courage – oozing out confidence. It’ll start to sink in slowly and make you feel more comfortable gradually.
